Emory Ranked 17th by U.S. News and World Report
Emory University ranked 17th among 248 national universities in this year's U.S. News and World Report annual college quality rankings. Emory has been ranked in the top 20 since 1994 and this year improved its standing by one place over last year. The Goizueta Business School also rose by one place to be ranked 12th among undergraduate business programs.

CLS appeared in the September issue of The Academic Exchange in an article entitled, "Science in the Seams, Computational and Life Sciences Initiative redefines disciplinary lines".
CLS Initiative Launched at Community Retreat
Over 40 administrators, faculty and staff participated in the first CLS community retreat, officially launching the initiative. The retreat was held on Saturday October 14 in the Math & Science Center. Discussions ranged from identifying focus areas of scientific interest to faculty hiring, postdoctoral fellowship and education programs, the planned evolution conference, and CLS-related service cores.
